Speaking about the appointment of seven thousand more teachers in primary schools, Farid Ahmed, secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said that the recruitment of primary teachers will be completed within two to three months.
He said this in a press conference at the Ministry’s meeting room at the Secretariat on Tuesday (February 14).
The press conference was organized on the initiatives and achievements of primary education. State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain was present in this. Regarding the appointment of primary school teachers, the secretary said that seven thousand more teachers will be appointed. Clearance has already been given.
Regarding the transfer of teachers, he said, ‘The transfer of primary school assistant teachers between inter-district, inter-division and inter-city corporations is starting this month. For this, some software work has to be done. We are starting it soon.’
Farid Ahmed said, “We have already started transfers between upazilas. In the first phase, the transfer of 25,000 teachers was successfully completed in just 7 days. The second and third phase of the plan is on the way to implementation. Along with this, a revised online transfer policy has been issued on December 22 last year for the transfer of nearly 4 lakh teachers as soon as possible.
Earlier on December 14, the result of recruitment of assistant teachers of government primary schools was published. 37 thousand 574 candidates are recommended for recruitment. This is the largest recruitment in the history of government primary school teacher recruitment so far.
On October 20, 2020, the Department of Primary Education published the recruitment circular for assistant teachers for 32 thousand 577 vacancies. Later, 37 thousand 574 assistant teachers were appointed by increasing another 5 thousand posts.
After the recruitment, the candidates are sent the recruitment letter to the district primary education offices by post. Candidates are given the format of commitment letter and joining letter from the district education office. After completing these, the new teachers joined the district primary education office on January 22.
