Apple is also said to be running on an excellent (and a little scary) new security feature that would let the AirPods recognize the user by the shape of their ear or the way they walk. All of this sounds a bit like a dystopian future to me, but hey, more security might be a good thing. There are also some strange rumors, like the one that Apple will let you control your AirPods with your teeth.

Kuo thinks Apple will release the new AirPods Pro “in the last quarter of 2022.” There have been rumors about a launch in 2022 for a while, but this is the first time we have a date. The claim makes sense when you look at previous release dates and times when sales were at their highest.
It could mean that the Air Pods 3 will come out in October when the primary model came out last year. Apple might have another, more surprising intention of releasing the AirPods Pro 2 sooner rather than later: the battery life for early adopters of the 2019 model could be pretty bad these days.

If you earlier have a wireless charging mat with other devices and want to get the most out of your AirPods, this is the best choice. The more expensive version costs about $35, but if you listen to music daily, that’s a small price to pay for ease of use.
